In a bill (AB1047) signed into law by the governor of California on October 8, 2013 the state liberalizes the provision of ground transportation services. The bill repeals the requirement that a commercial driver obtain a license from the Department of Motor Vehicles if the person is in possession of a valid commercial learner's permit or commercial driver's license issued by any state or foreign jurisdiction that meets federal licensing standards.
