In a bill (SB1398) that the governor of Oklahoma signed into law on May 28, 2014, the state of Oklahoma provides for the recognition of foreign qualifications for persons seeking to operate as professional counsellors in that state. The new language that the bill inserts into the law providing for the recognition of qualifications reads as follows: "Applicants with degrees from schools outside the United States may qualify with Board approval by providing the Board with an acceptable comprehensive evaluation of the degree performed by a foreign credential evaluation service that is acceptable to the Board, and any other requirement the Board deems necessary."
