The Cargo Control and Sufferance Warehouse Modernization Unit of the Canada Border Services Agency announced on December 6, 2013 regulatory amendments that would remove the licence fee charged under the Customs Sufferance Warehouses Regulations. It proposed that these regulatory amendments come into force on April 1, 2014, on the condition that the Governor in Council makes the regulatory amendment. Under the current regulations (see http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-86-1065/FullText.html) licensees are required to pay annual fees of Can.$500.
