In early November 2010, the Ministry of Mineral Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic revoked the licence granted to Jerooyaltyn CJSC JV for the exploitation of the Jerooy deposit, the second largest gold deposit in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Jerooyaltyn CJSC JV was a joint venture in which the Kazakh company Consolidated Exploration Holding held a 60 per cent share.
Consolidated Exploration Holding brought the case to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). The case has been registered on April 23, 2013. The company seeks a compensation of more than USD740 million.
