NoOn 1 July 2012, Estonia tightened its regulation on residence permits for foreigners. Previously, no distinctions between residence permits given to workers in entities governed by public and private law were made. While the previous regime for entities under public law still applies, a person applying for a permit to perform managerial or supervisory functions for an entity governed under private law must now meet a salary criterion. Specifically, the person must prove that her salary is at least equal to the average salary in Estonia multiplied by a factor of 1.24.
