On 1 July 2012, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). The temporary pause does not apply to those with a qualifying job offer or applying for a position requiring a PhD. According to CIC, the acceptance of applications a be resumed in early 2013, when proposed changes to the FSWP selection criteria enter into force.
