In November 2011, the Czech Government passed various acts amending parts of the Labor Code of 2004.
As of 23 January 2012, all non-EU nationals that want to be hired locally have to present a document certifying that an applicant's foreign educational qualifications are equivalent to the Czech standard (equivalency certificate). In addition, Czech authorities also consider to require equivalency certificates for within-company movements. The new requirement is expected to prolong the overall length of the application process.
