Public procurement preference margin

On 11 July 2010, the government of Algeria announced an increase in the preference margin it gives to domestic firms in public procurement contracts. Algerian firms now enjoy a preference margin of 25 percent, up from 15 percent.
 
Furthermore, foreign firms applying for a public contract must do so in a joint venture with an Algerian company.
