FDI: Entry and ownership rule
On 13 September 2011, the government of Brazil lifted the foreign ownership cap for cable operators (telecom). Prior to the change, foreigners were not allowed to command a share exceeding 49 percent in a given company.
The law also broadens the services cable operators may provide to package deals including combinations of broadband services (telephone, internet, TV).
