Description

 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev approved the new Customs Code, which came into force from January 2012. The existing Customs Code was adopted in 1997. This document lost its force from the beginning of 2012.

China: Tariff implementation scheme for 2012

On 15 December 2011, the Chinese authorities published a notice No. 27 on Tariff Implementation Scheme in 2012. In accordande to this notice the Chinese tariffs will be 4,4% lower on 730 products than the most favored treatment under the WTO.

South Africa: Increased duty on water meters

On 23 December 2011, the government of South Africa increased the import duty rate on water meters from 0 to 10 percent.   Meters for all other liquids are unaffected by this increase.
