On 29 January 2009 the Egyptian Government decided to reduce import duty for several products up to 10%. Products that had initially been subject to a duty of 2 % may now be imported duty free.

On the 11 December 2014 the Japan Bank for International Cooperation signed a CNY 90 million (ca. USD 14.19 million) loan agreement with Hiruta (Foshan) Automotive Company, Ltd. The company is a subsidiary of Japanese Hiruta Kogyo Co., Ltd.
