Uzbekistan: Import tariff increase on cars

Description

From 1 September 2009, the Uzbek government has introduced blocking import tariffs on cars (by Presidential Decree from 5 August 2009). Apparently, this measure increased the price of imported cars by up to 90%. This measure is aimed to protect domestic car producer GM-Uzbekistan.
