South Africa: Reduction in rate of duty on certain aluminium products
Description
In 2010, the general rate of duty on aluminium products classifiable under tariff sub-headings 76.06 and 76.07 have been reduced to 2.5%. This follows the South Africa International Trade Administration Recommendation of a phase-down in the rate of duty from 10% ad valorem to 3.8% ad valorem in 2009, 2.5% ad valorem from 1 January 2010, 1.3% ad valorem from 1 January 2011 and free of duty from 1 January 2012.
The general rate of duty on aluminium products classifiable under tariff sub-headings 76.04 and 76.05 were reduced from 5% to free of duty in 2009.
