Nigeria : Fiscal policy measures 2012
Description
In the context of fiscal policy measures the Nigerian government adopted the following trade relevant measures:
- As of 31 January 2012 the import of machinery and equipment for the agricultral sector, as well as for the development of the electrical power supply, is free from duties
- As of 31 March 2012 the import of manioc flour is prohibited (Affected Tariff Line: 1106)
- As of 1 July 2012 the following tariff rates and extra duties apply for the import of selected agricultural products :

Extra Duty 65%
Grain of Wheat (4104)
Tariff Rate: 5%
Extra Duty 15%
Husked Rice (brownrice) (1006)
Tariff Rate: 5%
Extra Duty 25%

Tariff Rate: 10%
Extra Duty 40%
