Mexico: Initiation of antidumping investigation on poultry cuts and offal, fresh, chilled or frozen from the U.S.
Description
On February 9, 2011, the Government of Mexico initiated an antidumping investigation on poultry cuts and offal, fresh, chilled or frozen from the United States of America.
The investigation was requested by Bachoco, S.A. de C.V. ("Bachoco"), Productos Agropecuarios de Tehuacán, S.A. de C.V. (Patsa) and Buenaventura Grupo Pecuario, S.A. de C.V. ("Buenaventura"). These three Mexican enterprises account for over 25% of Mexico's production of poultry cuts and offal.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following items of Mexico's Harmonized System: 0207.13.03 and 0207.14.04.
In accordance with the Mexican legislation, 90 days after the initiation of the investigation the authorities must issue a preliminary determination: (a) adopting preliminary antidumping duties, (b) announcing the continuance of the investigation without imposing preliminary duties or (c) concluding the investigation due to lack of evidence.
In all cases, 210 days after the initiation of the procedures the Mexican authorities must issue a final determination. Through this decision, the Government will announce if this kind of products from the U.S. will face final antidumping duties.
