Japan: Funding of Bulgarian purchases of Japanese exports
Description
On 17 December 2009 the Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) extended an export credit line worth 20 million euro the Bulgarian Development Bank AD. According to the relevant press release "This credit line was extended to the Bulgarian Development Bank AD, a governmental financial institution pursuing the objective of promoting trade, developing infrastructure and fostering small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to finance Bulgarian firms for the import of machinery, equipment and services from Japanese exporters. The credit line, which provides medium and long-term funds in euro or yen, will facilitate the purchase of machinery, equipment and services from Japan and is thereby expected to lead to increased exports by Japanese firms to Bulgaria."
