India: Increased support to domestic cereal producers
Description
On 5 November 2009, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs increased the minimum support prices for a range of cereals. Under the new scheme, farmers of wheat, barley, gram, safflower and rabi receive higher minimum compensation than under the previous regulation.
