Ecuador: Initiation of safeguard investigation concerning imports of safety glass
Description
On April 19, 2010 Ecuador initiates a safeguard investigation concerning imported goods classified under HS 7007. The goal of the investigation is to determine whether such imports have caused damage to the corresponding domestic market.
On November 1, 2010 Ecuador introduced a specific tariff of US$ 12.72 per windshield (HS 7007) imported, for the expected duration of three years. The tariff is supposed to drop continuously during this period.
The Republic of Peru and Chile are exempted from this measure.
