EC: Termination without duties of antidumping investigation on imports of certain polyethylene terephthalate from Iran, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates

Measure #0647 | Published 8 Sep 2009 | Last Updated 29/09/2010 ▲

Description

On 3 September 2009 the European Commission initiated an antidumping on imports of certain polyethylene terephthalate originating in Iran, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The product under investigation was polyethylene terephthalate of viscosity number of 78 ml/g or higher, according to the ISO Standard 1628-5. Preliminary affirmative dumping and injury decision was taken on June 1, 2010 and antidumping duties were imposed on imports from United Arab Emirates and Iran.

On September 29, 2010 the European Commission issued a "Decision terminating the anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of certain polyethylene terephthalate originating in Iran, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and releasing the amounts secured by way of the provisional duties imposed". The antidumping proceedings were thus terminated on the basis of the final determination that the product has not been sold at dumped prices.
