EC: Extended antidumping duties on silicon metal from China, Korea and Chinese Taipei
Description
On 26 May 2010, following an interim expiry review, the European Commission published the Regulation No. 476/2010, thereby extending the imposition of antidumping duties on silicon metal (HS code 2804.6900) originating in China and the Republic of Korea.
The original duties were imposed in March 2004 on products from China, and in January 2007 on products from the Republic of Korea.
On 5 July 2012, the Commission initiated an investigation concerning the possible circumvention of anti-dumping measures imposed by the above Regulation by imports of the subject good consigned from Chinese Taipei.
The request was lodged on 15 May 2012 by Euroalliages on behalf of producers representing a major proportion (namely 100%) of EU's production of silicon.
On 3 April 2013, the Commission decided to extend the antidumping measures in force on imports of the subject product originating in China to imports consigned through Chinese Taipei.
