Canada: Changes to the Live-in Caregiver Program
Description
From 1 April 2010, the employment of foreign live-in cargivers is subject to new regulation.
Under the new regulation, employers are now required to pay for their live-in cargiver's transportation cost. Also employers must provide workplace safety insurance and health insurance until the caregiver is eligible for provincial insurance schemes.
