Brazil: temporary tariff reduction for cotton not carded/combed
Description
On September 14th 2010, the Brazilian government announced a temporary tariff reduction on the ad-valorem import duty from 10% to 0% for cotton not carded/combed, classified under the 8-digit codes 5201.00.20 and 5201.00.90 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).
The tariff reduction is limited to a quota of
250,000 tons, loads recorded by the Import Declaration between 01st of October 2010 and 31st May 2011 and the quota can only be distributed to the textile industry for use in its manufacturing process.
